I'm dedicating this to my Mom.

I've worked on it for weeks and it's still not done. I hand smudge brushed every single stroke.

It's not really hard. Just a lot of work.

And you have to choose the right photo to begin with, I guess. The quality of the orginal photo doesn't have to be that great as long as the compostion is good, because you can change everything about it while smudging.

One problem I have is that there's never an original--only a print, so it is not like oil or water painting in that respect.; January 27, 2007 2:55 PM
