Black and White

I believe this to be a medium to high contrast in that I am sure you could get it much higher than that in fact I know you could because I had the shadows of the viaduct black but brought some detail back with the Shadow Highlight thingy. The sky was taken on this same day but not with this shot. I figured it needed something to make it look a bit more dramatic.

It looks pretty high contrast, but obviously it could be much more high contrast if there was more light in the clouds and in the bridge so it could be considered high end of medium contrast.

in any case, it is a lovely striking image.

It would look better with a steam train puffing over it. There is a railway museum which takes you out on old trains but we have always gone the other way when it has been a Thomas the Tank day. Maybe they do them the other way sometimes. I should look into it and get some shots.
Meantime I already got a shot of an electric train going across but not very impressive and from a different angle further away.
Not sure how old the viaduct is.
