Thank you very much Frog Ladies, Mary and Val!
It does say in small white letters that this is Ellis Island Ceiling. I will add New York to it. It is i the main reception hall where all the immigrants would have first arrived to be inspected and sorted. Some if they had any illness would have gone to another island for isolation. On Ellis Island when we went there was a wonderful photographic exhibition by a photographer who had been allowed to visit after decades of neglect. He somehow made the neglect into beauty. You should all go and see it - but I am not sure it would still be there.

these photos bring out the architectural quality of the space quite well, i like the abstract patterns of the line.
as regards the
tug of war event, the team on the left one. :)

to get large size pix without clicking on them, you'll need to tweak your blog template a bit. just type in "large size photos on blog" or "wider blog columns" in google, and you'll get good results. once you've managed to widen the column size, its very simple to get wide pix too.

Glad you saw Kunal's comment on bigger pics in a blog. I did actually ask him how to do it. I've had a search on google and havn't come up with anything that seems simple enough for me. I like Mindless Mumbai blog's big pics that just come up without clicking on them.
I just knew the team on the left had to win because the the one on the right would have gone back into the shrubbery.

I've been meaning to search that and see if I can find out, but haven't yet. AK! Way behind.

Did he give you an answer that was helpful at all?
